Date night outfit

When we were dating, my husband and I went out together at least a couple nights a week. After we got married, we still had frequent date nights, probably at least once a week. But once we had our son, date nights definitely became less frequent. Now that we’ve moved away from all of our friends and family, the closest we get to having a date night is an early dinner out for three, or just a night in at home after our son’s bedtime.

Now I’m not complaining, because both of these options are great, and if we REALLY wanted a night out alone, we could hire a babysitter. The thing is, however, that I have a very hard time trusting someone enough to leave my child with them. I guess I’ve just heard one too many stories about babysitters from hell. So this doesn’t leave us with many options. However, my younger sister is currently visiting us for a couple of weeks, and she graciously agreed to babysit one of the evenings that she is here, so that hubby and I could go on a proper date!

Because this is such a rarity for us, we want it to be special, which means I need the perfect date night outfit! Now I’ve narrowed down my choices, and my outfit will look a little something like this (my dress is from Kohl’s but no longer available):

I was inspired, so I decided to share some of my favorites for date night! Most of these are under $50, so you don’t have to feel guilty about getting steak AND lobster or extra dessert (or whatever your heart desires)!

You can never go wrong with a Little Black Dress. I have a couple of these, and I love that they work for almost any occasion, and can be dressed up or down!

For a special occasion or fancy dinner, or even just because, a Classic number never fails. These just make you feel like such a lady!

Life is short, so sometimes, you just have to go with something Fun and Flirty (especially when the weather is warmer)! After all, you should use any excuse to flirt with your special someone…

Do you have a go-to date night outfit?
